Over 2,200 elderly people given free medical check-ups

Cam Pha city of the northern province of Quang Ninh has organized free medical check-ups for the elderly, who are at risk of heart disease, blood pressure and eye problems.

Of which, 150 elderly people, 80 years and older, have been given free medicine worth VND11 million.

The activity is part of annual program of the Cam Pha city medical centre. Accordingly, the centre has asked its 16 medical stations across 16 wards and communes in the city to hold annual medical check-ups for the elderly.

This year the program will last until September 20.

So far 2,224 elderly people have received free medical check-ups, with capital of VND210 million, including VND160 million spent on free medicines./.
