Northern province brings mid-Autumn festival to poor child patients

On September 18, members of the Quang Ninh provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union visited and gave presents to poor child patients at the Bai Chay Hospital and the provincial general hospital, in an attempt to encourage disadvantaged child patients to overcome their diseases.

The activity was part of the program to give 2,000 presents to poor children during the mid-Autumn festival in the province.

At the hospital, Hoang Ba Nam, a member of the standing committee of the provincial Youth Union and the Secretary of the provincial Youth Union, gave 70 presents worth VND7 million to poor child patients.

So far the provincial Youth Union standing committee has mobilised money from unions, agencies and enterprises to give 3,000 presents to beneficiaries.

It has also visited and given presents to children in disadvantaged regions in the province, showing the sympathy of the community for poor children, and confirming the role of the union in caring for and educating children and teenagers./.
