Nearly VND80 billion transferred to fund for Co To power project

The steering committee on raising capital to bring power to Co To island has said that so far, the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Finance has received and managed VND79.7 billion.

The money has been collected from agencies, organizations and people across the province. Accordingly, each official and labourer has donated one working day's salary and each family has donated VND50,000 to the project.

Of the money transferred to the provincial Department of Finance, VND50 billion comes from the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin).

So far agencies, enterprises and individuals have committed to assist the project with over VND190.8 billion.

Recently, the provincial Party Committee has issued a notice on ensuring the progress of the project. Accordingly, the time for completing the project is set for October 19 at the latest, to welcome the 50^th year of the establishment of Quang Ninh province.

The project was inaugurated in November 2012 with a total capital of some VND1.1 trillion, and with the length of nearly 100 kilometres./.
