Northern province increases struggle against smuggling

According to authorised agencies in the northern province of Quang Ninh, last April, their anti-smuggling operations continue against the illegal transportation of goods. Particular focus is given to food of questionable origin and improper food safety.

As a result, the agencies dealt with 84 cases of smuggling and transport of tax avoidance goods, environmental pollution, seizing 26,500 packages of cigarette, over 24,400 breeding chickens and close to 2,000 kilograms of animals.

Authorised agencies continued to carry out activities to fight drug criminals. On the Vietnam - China border route, 38 drug criminals were arrested and 60 cakes of heroin, 215 grams of heroin and 3,148 grams of ecstasy were seized.
