Traffic accidents reduced in northern province

In the first five months of the year, the northern province of Quang Ninh saw a reduction in the number of traffic accidents, the number of fatalities and the number of injured persons, the provincial Traffic Safety Department reported.

Accordingly, 46 traffic accidents occurred, killing 37 people and injuring 41 others. In May alone, a serious traffic accident took place in Hai Ha district, killing 3 people and wounding 4.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of traffic accidents was reduced by 13 cases, the number of fatalities was reduced by 10 and the number of wounded people was reduced by 3.

Authorised agencies dealt with 17,451 traffic safety violators, impounding almost 1,000 vehicles, revoking 1,766 driving licenses and fining over VND13 billion./.
