Thanks to the fund, thousands of poor families have been supported in housing, production tools, healthcare and vocational training. They have been assisted to escape poverty, contributing to efficient implementation of the welfare policies of the province.
In particular, since 2009, the province has mobilised almost VND53 billion to the fund. The money has been used to build 4,178 houses and repair 253 for poor families, with capital injection of nearly VND39 billion. In 2013 alone, the fund earmarked VND1.5 billion to give assistance to over 900 families, supported 613 poor people in healthcare, gave assistance to over 2,500 poor pupils and unexpected assistance to over 3,000 others.
Besides, the fund has encouraged poor families’ economic development by giving them animals and plants as well as poverty reduction training courses.
Since the beginning of this year, the provincial Fatherland Front has called on enterprises, unions, organizations, agencies and individuals to contribute to the building of the fund through diverse methods. Suggestions include donating cash, directly building or repairing houses for the poor, giving presents to the poor, expanding welfare constructions for the community, giving loans for production by the poor, and contributing working days or materials for housing building./.
