Nearly 50 volunteers from Japan and members of the Youth Union participated in planting mangrove forest in the Ha An ward of Quang Yen town, Quang Ninh province on August 21.
The program is part of a project on “Mangrove plantation and disaster risk reduction” sponsored by the Japanese Red Cross Society. During the program, over 200 Sonneratia trees were planted.
The event also created a connection between nations, through education on and participation in, environmental protection activities.
Quang Yen town has over 2,670 hectares of mangrove forest, which are of significant importance in the protection of the entire local eco-system and aquaculture environment./.
