Mekong River Delta province has new personnel

The Tra Vinh provincial People’s Council tenure 8 convened its 19th session on December 7th - 9th to evaluate the implementation of the social-economic development tasks over the past five years (2011-2015), the year of 2015 and work out the social-economic development plan in 2016.

At the meeting, the Tra Vinh provincial People’s Council elected Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam as a Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Council for the 2011-2016 period to replace for Mr. Nguyen Van Ngo, who retires; and elected three new Deputy Heads of the provincial People’s Committee, including Mr. Tran Anh Dung, former Chief of the Office of the provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Trung Hoang, former Secretary of the Cau Ngang district Party Committee; Ms. Dang Thi Phuong, former Secretary of Chau Thanh district Party Committee to replace for Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, Mr. Le Van Han and Mr. Nguyen Van Phong. Mr. Le Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Chau Thanh district People’s Committee, was also elected as a member of the provincial People’s Committee for the 2011-2016 period.

   

2016 is the first year of implementing the resolution of the 10th provincial Party Congress, the provincial People’s Council has agreed to further focus on resources in order to foster rapid and sustainable socio-economic development in next five years.

 

Accordingly, the province will accelerate economic restructuring and growth model innovation to attract investment to increase budget revenues, create jobs and ensure social welfare.

 

Some main socio-economic indicators have been adopted, including: Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increases by 11-12%; total export revenues increases by 15.7%; total investment capital for social development reaches VND18,000 billion; per capita income reaches VND33.5 million/year.
