MA. Le Duc Thien, Deputy Head of Training Department of Dong A Institute of Economics and Technology, said that the nursing and nursing aid accounts for nearly 50% of health human resources, providing the most frequent and continuous services, and being the backbone of the healthcare system. That is the reason why developed countries like Germany, with a rapidly aging population, are always short of this kind of human resource.
"Each year, Germany needs about 11,000 nurses working in medical facilities, health care foundations and nursing homes. To meet the human needs, Germany is increasing the search for workers in countries with young populations suitable for nursing jobs, and Vietnam is their number one priority,” he said, adding that during the hottest situation of COVID-19, Germany issues visas and allows non-quarantine entry for nurses from Vietnam.
According to Mr. Thien, the way to Germany has never been as favorable as at present, as the country is doing everything to attract nurses, and willing to offer favourable conditions for the nurses to work for a long time, and encourage them to settle in the country.
"The salary that Vietnamese nurses can receive in Germany is about VND70-90 million per month, excluding other additional income,” he went on to say. “This is considered a strong attraction, in addition to social welfare indicators of top priority.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Van Khanh, Head of Human Resource Development Department of the Ho Chi Minh city-based Esuhai Co. Ltd., said that Japan's demand for Kaigo (care for the elderly) is quite large, with a higher income than other professions.
"Not only Kaigo, nursing aid and many other nursing-related jobs are also being ordered by our Japanese partners with unlimited nursing human resources from Vietnam,” he said, adding that although both countries are struggling with the COVID-19, Japan has resumed the issuance of visas for Vietnamese labourers./.
