400 tons of gifts donated for children in HCMC on Mid-Autumn Festival

A ceremony was organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City on September 7 to receive gifts for children and disadvantaged people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic on the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival.

The gifts including essential goods such as milk for babies, bottles of soy sauce and cooking oil with the value of VND18 billion donated by Yeah1 Group.

The Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in districts and Thu Duc City will timely distribute the essential goods to orphaned kids and needy people in Ho Chi Minh City on the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in HCMC Tran Kim Yen expressed her hope to continue to receive more support from companies, individuals, collectives and enterprises for the needy people in the upcoming time.

According to the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in Ho Chi Minh City, the city has over 2,500 children orphaned due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 115 kids of them have lost both parents./.
