All six Vietnamese students win medals at International Mathematical Olympiad 2023

All six Vietnamese students have won medals, including two gold medals, at the International Mathematical Olympiad 2023 (IMO) which is taking in Japan July 2 to 13 with the participation of approximately 600 students.

Pham Viet Hung, a student majoring in Natural Science of Vietnam National University Hanoi, and Nguyen An Thinh, a student of Tran Phu high school for the gifted in Hai Phong City, won gold medals. Hung also took a gold at the IMO 2022 held in Norway.
Along with the two golds, Vietnamese students also secured two silver and two bronze medals.
They all scored a total of 180 points, helping Vietnam finish sixth among more than 110 countries and territories taking part in the contest.
China topped the rankings, scoring 240 points, followed by the United States (222pts), the Republic of Korea (215pts), Romania (208pts) and Japan (181pts).
International Mathematical Olympiad 2022 was held in Norway. Vietnam also won two golds, two silvers and two bronzes, ranking fourth among 104 countries and territories./.
