EPA program brings more than 1,900 nursing and midwifery candidates to Japan

So far, the EPA program has brought more than 1,900 nursing and midwifery candidates to work in Japan. Vietnamese candidates of the EPA program have a high rate of passing the Japanese national certification exam, confirming their professional quality and receiving good reviews from employers in this country.

On June 4, the Department of Overseas Labour Management Department under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs held a send-off ceremony for nursing and midwifery candidates term XI to work in Japan under the Vietnam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).
The EPA program has selected 2,231 candidates to work at Japanese hospitals and medical facilities. Over the past years, 1,845 candidates left the country to work in this market.
Deputy Director of the Department of Overseas Labour Management Dang Si Dung said that implementing the EPA, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has directed units to coordinate with the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam and Meiko Network Japan training agency to organize 12 courses on Japanese language training under the program sending Vietnamese nurses and midwives to work in Japan.
In 2024, 99 nursing and midwife candidates have completed the necessary procedures to go to Japan, bringing the total number of candidates under the EPA program to 1,944.
This is a non-profit program that helps nursing graduates who want to work in Japan.
After a decade since the first candidates arrived in Japan in 2014, Vietnamese nursing and midwifery candidates have affirmed their superior abilities compared to nurses and midwives from other countries. Japan's national certification exam passing rate is high. Up to now, the Japanese national certification passing rate of Vietnamese nursing candidates has reached approximately 80%, and that of nursing care staff is approximately 93%./.
