The decision states that Hanoi will support Ho Chi Minh City with 75 billion VND (equivalent to 5,000 tons of rice) to ensure social security in the context of complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic. The support is deducted from the city-level budget reserve in 2021.

Previously, in order to share difficulties caused by the pandemic with the Party Committee, administration and people of Ho Chi Minh City, in early July 2021, the Party Committee, authority and people of Hanoi donated a 72-well automatic PCR test system, a 96-well automatic extractor and COVID-19 diagnostic test system to the Ho Chi Minh City health sector.

In addition, Hanoi also presented 54 billion VND to 18 southern provinces and cities that are facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including: Tien Giang, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Can Tho, Dong Nai, Tra Vinh, Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Tay Ninh, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, An Giang, Hau Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Vinh Long and Long An.

Apart from that, Hanoi has also donated 15 billion VND to Binh Duong province to ensure social security in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic./.
