Ho Chi Minh City authority has added VMD4.167 trillion to help nearly 1.5 million disadvantaged people who have been listed in previous support packages but have not yet received money.

Accordingly, Thu Duc City and District 12 were both granted more than VND500 billion, Hoc Mon and Tan Phu Districts both received more than VND300 billion, some other localities were all granted more than VND200 billion. This total amount is to supplement the Government's VND26 trillion package and 3 separate packages of the city, to support people affected by COVID-19.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested localities to urgently implement and carry out support by January 15, 2022. Cases needing priority help are those who have been approved for the list but have not yet received money due to isolation or medical treatment at the time of payment; and people who are eligible to receive the support package in 3 phases but have not been listed.
According to statistics from the City's Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, in the fourth wave of the pandemic, Ho Chi Minh City has deployed many support packages and spent more than VND12 trillion to help over 8.8 million people.
Out of 3 support packages, the third package with the largest scale reaching more than 7.7 million people has been approved for the list. Up to now, more than 6.2 million people (nearly 81%) have received money with over VND6.2 trillion. There are 1.5 million disadvantaged people who have not yet received support./.
