Ho Chi Minh City develops cultural space about Uncle Ho

Recently, many Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces have been formed at businesses with the desire to create conditions for workers to easily access and learn about the life, ideological values, morality, and style of President Ho Chi Minh.

Expanding, meeting cultural needs of workers

One day in early November 2023, Ms. Nguyen Thu Hang, a worker at Nidec Vietnam Co., Ltd. in the High-Tech Park, Thu Duc City and 2 colleagues invited each other to visit the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space which has just been built at the company’s Trade Union Room.

“I am impressed because this place not only has many books about Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton, but also has a map of Uncle Ho’s 30-year journey to find a way to save the country. I feel more motivated to strive,” Ms. Thu Hang shared.

Nearly a month ago, since the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space was implemented, the Trade Union Room at Nidec Vietnam Co., Ltd. has been the destination for many workers. President of the company’s Trade Union Luu Kim Hong said that some people just stop by for 5 minutes to look and borrow books to read, while others stay longer to admire and learn about the life of Uncle Ho and master craftsman Ton Duc Thang.

On November 9, the District 1 Labor Federation also launched the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space at the Grassroots Trade Union of E.land Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Cu Chi district. This is the first Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space at an FDI enterprise in District 1. The space displays more than 200 images and books containing works and documents about the great life and career of President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang, in order to help workers have more places to exchange, study and follow Uncle Ho’s example.

Vice Chairman of the City Labor Confederation Phung Thai Quang said that the formation of Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space at businesses with many workers and boarding houses contributes to building a comprehensive culture and people, improving spiritual life for workers. To date, the City Labor Federation has built more than 50 Ho Chi Minh Cultural Spaces at businesses.

Spreading learning space about Uncle Ho

At the Tuoi Mart branch in Hai Thanh residential area, Binh Tri Dong B ward Binh Tan district, Mr. Nguyen Long Tuoi, Director of Tuoi Mart Trading and Investment Co., Ltd., devoted more than 30 square meters in the company facility to spending time with others to build Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space.

In this space, Tuoi Mart Company's Trade Union also often organizes cultural exchange activities, Don ca tai tu music performances and playgrounds to help workers understand Uncle Ho’s life.

Over the past year, the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space at Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue's boarding house at 155/23 Le Dinh Can, Tan Tao Ward, Binh Tan District has been frequently visited by most of the tenants.

“In addition to displaying documents and books, I also created a reading corner in the space so children can freely choose books about Uncle Ho, while workers also have a place to learn about the life of Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue.

As for Ms. Dao Thi Qua’s boarding house at 164/8, Group 6B Street, Tan Tao A Ward, Binh Tan District, Ms. Qua renovated an unrented room to make a Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space. In addition to books, newspapers and documents about Uncle Ho, the space has nearly 100 books about the history of Saigon - Gia Dinh, documents about Party Congresses, and documents about trade unions.

Vice Chairman of the City Labor Confederation Phung Thai Quang said that after 1 year of implementation, Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space has become a place for cultural and political activities of workers and attracts a large number of workers to visit and join hands to maintain and develop. In particular, the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space at businesses has also helped evoke the sense of responsibility of workers in building a strong class, through which many workers have joined the Party./.
