The Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee has allocated VND41 billion to 17 localities for supporting vulnerable individuals as outlined in various provincial resolutions for 2024.

The assistance targets vulnerable individuals in 17 localities.
In the 2021-2023 period, the province provided free health insurance cards to 157,785 impoverished individuals, with a total cost of over VND111.5 billion. Additionally, free health insurance was granted to over 272,000 ethnic minority residents and individuals in economically disadvantaged or island areas, at a cost exceeding VND202 billion.
Monthly social assistance was provided to 296,150 beneficiaries, amounting to VND1,924 billion. Support for 42,422 households and individuals fostering social welfare beneficiaries totaled VND181 billion, and health insurance cards for 226,760 social welfare beneficiaries cost VND173 billion.
Notably, the Provincial People’s Council included individuals facing difficult circumstances in the group eligible for social welfare benefits. From 2022 to 2023, the province provided monthly social assistance to 11,346 individuals, costing VND34.4 billion; issued health insurance cards to 6,509 beneficiaries, at a cost of VND3.8 billion; and supported funeral expenses for 506 individuals, totaling VND3.6 billion.
This policy has significantly aided those in challenging situations, particularly individuals with critical illnesses, children under three years old from poor households, and elderly individuals aged 60 to 80 from impoverished backgrounds. These efforts have helped improve their quality of life and contributed to effective implementation of the province’s social welfare programs./.
