At the same time, the Navy sent ships and vehicles to transport food and essential goods to Ho Chi Minh City’s districts to help people during the time of social distancing. Major General Phan Tuan Hung expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Party Committee and authorities of Ho Chi Minh City, the city will quickly overcome the pandemic to gradually stabilize socio-economic development.

He affirmed that the funds and necessities will be transferred to the people by Ho Chi Minh City as quickly as possible so that everyone can overcome difficulties, adding that when the pandemic is controlled, the city will try harder to focus on economic development to contribute to the army and navy, with full equipment to protect the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

According to Mr. Hai, over the past time, Ho Chi Minh City has received the attention and support of the central level and localities, which has helped Ho Chi Minh City overcome the difficult period in pandemic prevention and control. “The increased military medical force has helped reduce the number of COVID-19 patients who are seriously ill and die in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as the force to support the welfare of people in the localities,” he said. “This shows the army’s crucial role and affection to the people.”
