Over one million students attend national high school graduation exams

More than one million students across Vietnam are attending the 2021 high school graduation exams. As of July 6, around 14,000 candidates are unable to take the first phase of the exams (July 7-8) due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The exam began on July 7 morning with strict COVID-19 measures in place as the fourth wave of infections has seen complicated developments. Students nationwide will do their literature tests in the morning and maths in the afternoon of the same day.

In addition to strictly observing examination regulations, the exam councils at testing venues have also strengthened COVID-19 prevention and control measures to ensure the health and safety of candidates and participants.

Candidates have their temperature checked and have their hands disinfected before entering the test sites, while they must wear masks during the exam.

Each test site was sprayed with disinfectant and medical staff are on duty during the exams, while contact isolation rooms and backup exam rooms have been arranged if any students need to be isolated due to with a COVID-19 patient.

Medical staff have also been placed on alert to respond if any candidates show COVID-19 symptoms./.
