Marking the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7), on the May 6, the delegation of the Party Central Committee, the State President, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front laid wreaths to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and offered incense to commemorate the fallen heroes at the Martyrs' Memorial on Bac Son Street, Hanoi.
Attending the ceremony were Politburo members: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; and Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Party Central Committee Commission on Organization Truong Thi Mai.
Former Party and State leaders also joined the ceremony.
In front of the heroic spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, the delegation expressed infinite gratitude and respectfully commemorated his great contributions to the revolutionary cause of our Party and nation, who devoted his whole life to the people and the country, and led our Party and people to achieve glorious victories.
The delegation's wreath bears the words: "Eternal gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh."
The victory of the resistance war against the French colonialists, culminating in the Dien Bien Phu victory - a victory of passionate patriotism, indomitable will and resilience of the Vietnamese people forged over thousands of years of history; is the victory of the resistance line; the independent, correct and creative military line of our Party, headed by President Ho Chi Minh.
The delegation laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate the fallen heroes at the Martyrs' Memorial on Bac Son Street.
In a solemn atmosphere, the Party and State leaders commemorated the nation's outstanding individuals who bravely fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, and for happiness of the people.
The same day, delegations from the Central Military Commission – Ministry of National Defence; Central Public Security Commission – Ministry of Public Security; and the Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee of Hanoi also laid wreaths at the mausoleum and the monument./.
