Accordingly, Vietnam Airlines' domestic flights from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Phu Quoc, and international flights from Hanoi to Europe, Australia, Japan and the Republic of Korea will be served fresh plum with salt in business class, and plum mousse in economy and premium economy classes.
In addition, all business class customers on other domestic and international routes will be served a welcome drink of plum tea.
To bring the best quality plums to passengers, Vietnam Airlines applies a strict selection and inspection process. Plums must meet VietGap standards, meet the required weight, be succulent, and have a light sweet and sour taste.
Storage and processing are also closely monitored, ensuring food safety and hygiene, providing passengers with an enjoyable culinary experience on each flight.
Including Son La plums in the air menu is not only a bridge of culinary culture, but also a way for the Vietnam National Airlines to accompany and support farmers, helping to expand Vietnamese specialties to domestic and world markets.
Son La currently has nearly 85,000 hectares of fruit trees, with an output of over 452,000 tons per year. Plum area alone is more than 12,300 hectares with an output of nearly 90,000 tons, harvested from April to July every year.
With continuous efforts in enhancing Vietnamese cuisine and culture, Vietnam Airlines was honored as the “World's Leading Airline in Terms of Cultural Identity” by the World Travel Awards. Previously, the company made its mark by continuously innovating its on-air menu to include typical regional flavors such as longans, lychees, oranges and strawberries./.
