Soc Trang: More than 4,000 poor people receive free medical examination and treatment

On July 7-9, the Soc Trang Provincial General Hospital and the Soc Trang Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Children's Cardiology and Congenital Heart Association, organized medical examination and treatment for more than 4,000 poor people inside and outside Soc Trang province.

The patients received healthcare consultancy, screening for congenital heart diseases, and medicine from more than 100 doctors from Ho Chi Minh City; doctors, medical students studying and living in the United States and the doctors and nurses of Soc Trang province.
The delegation performed general medical examination for 1,500 people; dental examination for 1,500 people and screening for congenital heart disease for 1,000 children under 16 years old.
Doctor Dang Minh Hien, Director of Soc Trang Provincial General Hospital, assessed that the above activities aim to support, help and ease some of the difficulties for the poor, ethnic minorities, revolutionary contributors, the lonely and sick in need of health advice, medical examination and treatment.
The program mobilized the participation of the whole society in humanitarian medical examination and treatment activities, created favorable conditions for poor and disadvantaged patients to receive free medical examination and treatment, and provided medical advice and timely treatment, especially of serious diseases, chronic diseases, congenital heart diseases./.
