Southern department launches Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space

On May 21, at the Institute of Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF), the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs held the launching ceremony of "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space" on the occasion of the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19).

Speaking at the ceremony, Tran Phuoc Anh, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs, said that with the motto of building the city into a Ho Chi Minh cultural space, where ideology, morality and style and President Ho Chi Minh's career always exist, becoming a spiritual asset and typical cultural value of officials, Party members and people of the city, building a "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space” is not only the pride but also the sacred duty of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City, and of the Party Committee of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The construction of the Cultural Space contributes to spreading Ho Chi Minh's ideology on international solidarity, great national solidarity, humanity, harmony and tolerance.

Mr. Anh also expressed his hope that the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space at IDECAF Library will constantly expand and improve the quality of activities to better serve intellectuals, officials and labourers.

Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space includes an area displaying images about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh; diplomatic legacies of President Ho Chi Minh and areas for screening documentaries about President Ho Chi Minh abroad.

At the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space, there are also nearly 30 photos of a number of monuments commemorating President Ho Chi Minh in 20 countries across different continents. Documentary images are introduced in 3 languages of Vietnamese, English and French./.
