Vietnamese water puppetry leaves strong impression on Russian audience

A troupe from the Thang Long Puppet Theater including 18 members performed folk music and traditional water puppet shows in Moscow and Voronezh at the invitation of the organisation committee of the 16th Chekhov International Theater Festival taking place from June 2-18.

The performance in Voronezh left a strong impression not only on the Russian audience but also on the Vietnamese community there, including the second and third generations of Vietnamese people living in the city.
Head of the troupe Tran Thanh Hien, who is also Director of the Thang Long Puppet Theater, said that due to the limited manpower, the artists have to work hard but enthusiastic feedback from the Russian audience motivates the artists a lot./.
