VNPT launches IT company

The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) on June 12th officially launched an information technology subsidiary, with the short name VNPT-IT.

VNPT-IT, established in April 2018, has basically completed its organizational structure and gathered about 1,000 IT engineers.
It will have 5 regional centers, 5 centers for product development solutions, 1 IDC infrastructure center and 1 innovative center to research and test new software and technologies of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Specifically, the product development solution centers will consist of one for E-government solutions, one for E-healthcare solutions, and one for the E-education center.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Mr. Tran Manh Hung, Chairman of VNPT Member Council, said that after the government approved the VNPT restructuring plan for the 2018-2020 period, the group officially launched the unit specializing in information technology.
The company will be a new pillar of the group in realizing missions to build Vietnam’s digital economy and meeting the set target. It plans to have 5,000 staff in 2019./.
