Hanoi hopes to increase cooperation with US localities

Secretary of the Hanoi city Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue on July 6th received US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink who came to talk about measures promoting bilateral cooperation.

At the meeting, Secretary Hue said that over the past time, relations between the two countries have developed substantially and smoothly, especially in trade and investment.

He thanked the US Government, despite the country’s severe loss due to COVID-19, for supporting Vietnam in the pandemic prevention effort and in the health sector. He also expressed his hope that the US will promptly control the pandemic.

Reviewing Hanoi’s economic achievements in the first half of this year, Secretary Hue confirmed that the city reported growth despite the bad influence of COVID-19.

Noting that the cooperative relationship between Hanoi and US localities saw good development, he showed his desire to reinforce the relationship in the future, confirming that the city always created favourable conditions for US businesses to invest.

US Ambassador Daniel J. Krenenbrink said that the economic and trade relations between the two countries played a key role in developing bilateral relations, while Hanoi had an important position in promoting cooperation between the two countries.

He added that he hoped exchanges between Hanoi city and US partners would continue to be increased in many fields. 

Expressing his thanks to the Hanoi authorities and people for presenting 150,000 face masks to the US to support its COVID-19 prevention, the Ambassador emphasized that this is a symbol of friendship between the two sides, going on to say that he believed that the bilateral relationship would grow more and more./.
