At the reception

During the reception, Ambassador Mpetjane Kgaogelo Kekgoro said that in 2018, the year marking the 100th birthday of late President Nelson Mandela, Vietnam and South Africa would celebrate the 25th year of their diplomatic relationship. In particular, this October, as South Africa will organize an international investment conference calling on foreign potential investors, Ambassador Mpetjane Kgaogelo Kekgoro expressed his hope that there would be a large number of Vietnamese businesses at the event.

Appreciating social activities such as voluntary blood donation, the building of pre-schools and cultural houses by the South African Embassy in Vietnam, Chairman Chung confirmed that Hanoi is willing to work with the South African Embassy in Vietnam and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to hold an exhibition on late President Nelson Mandela’s life and career in the city.

He added he hoped that the city and the South African Embassy in Vietnam will work together to prevent the trade of rhino horn and elephant tusks from South Africa to Vietnam; showing his belief that Ambassador Mpetjane Kgaogelo Kekgoro will help link trade, investment and tourism between the two countries in general and with Hanoi in particular./.
