The East Asia nation ranks 4th among 93 countries and territories investing in Ho Chi Minh city, with 1,400 projects capitalized at USD4.6 billion.

The figures were announced by Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee, during his November 16th reception for Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Lee Hyuk, on a working visit.

During the reception, Chairman Phong showed his pleasure at the fact that in 2017, Vietnam and RoK had organized a wide range of activities marking the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship, stressing that the recent Ho Chi Minh city - Gyeongju World Cultural Festival 2017 had been held on a large scale so that residents enjoyed the cultural beauty of each country.

Noting that many Korean groups, including large ones like Samsung, Lotte and CJ have been operated efficiently in the city, he pledged to continue to make favourable conditions for the Korean community and students to work, live and study there.

For his part, the Ambassador thanked the city for facilitating the operation of Korean businesses in the city and exempt land hire for constructing the Korean school.

He appreciated the city’s coordination with Korean localities in organising the Ho Chi Minh city - Gyeongju World Cultural Festival 2017, and expressed his hope that the city would continue to support the Korean Consulate General and the Korean community as well./.
