So said Truong Thi Anh, Deputy Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Council, during a reception for the Republic of Korea’s Gyeonggi provincial Council led by Kim Won-ki, Deputy Chairman of the Council, on a visit to the city.

During the reception, Ms Anh confirmed that the Korean delegation’s visit would contribute to further reinforcing the relationship and mutual understanding between the two localities.

She also stressed that based on the memorandum of understanding establishing the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries signed in April, the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee hoped to increase cooperation with Gyeonggi province, especially in exchanges of delegations and experience in local authority management.

According to Mr. Kim Won-ki, Gyeonggi province is the RoK’s largest provincial level locality, and Vietnam is currently one of the 5 countries having the largest transaction with Gyeonggi province in diverse areas. “Gyeonggi province and Ho Chi Minh city have many opportunities to promote cooperation with their similarities and the MoU of cooperation,” he said.

He expressed his hope that the two localities would increase promotion of cooperative activities, and that the Vietnamese city’s leaders would continue to create favourable conditions for Korean businesses to run efficiently, contributing to reinforcing and developing the economic and commercial ties between the two countries./.
