The northern province of Thai Binh will create best conditions for FDI businesses, said Dang Trong Thang, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, during a year-end meeting with FDI businesses on January 22nd.

During the meeting, Mr. Thang said that in 2018, Thai Binh province’s GRDP reached VND49.87 trillion, an increase of more than 10% compared to 2017, marking the 3
rd successive year of 2-digit economic growth, making it one of the leading Red River Delta localities in growth.
There are about 80 FDI businesses in the province, with over 40 participating in export activities. Last year, the province’s export turnover reached USD1.55 billion, with USD686.4 million coming from FDI businesses, according to him.
Recognizing and appreciating FDI contribution to the province’s socio-economic development, Mr. Thang suggested that FDI businesses should pay attention to protecting the environment, realizing investment progress and efficiency, and improving labourers’ living conditions.
“FDI businesses need to work out long-term investment strategy, renew equipment and pour more investment in high technology to increase productivity and products’ competitiveness; actively participate in emulation movements, improvement of investment environment and of the province’s Provincial Competitiveness Index ,” he said.
The Chaiman confirmed that the province would always make good conditions for FDI businesses to invest and expand production, and issue preferential policies to attract investment.
Expressing their thanks to the province’s assistance, FDI businesses pledged to well realize guidelines and policies, contributing to its development./.
