Vietnam makes contributions to IAEA hi-tech center

Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Le Dung has recently laid a symbolic brick of Vietnam on the wall of honor of countries who make contributions to the building of an experiential center of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Seibersdorf, Austria.

It aims to honour countries with outstanding technical and financial contributions to the building of laboratories at the Seibersdorf research center, a hi-tech center of IAEA in Austria providing services on training, research, laboratories and treatment of radioactive substances. Vietnam is the 36th country laying a brick on the wall of honour.

Ms Najat Morkhtar, IAEA Vice President, appreciated Vietnam’s contributions in cooperation with IAEA and in implementing technical projects between the two countries, for promoting the use of nuclear technology for peaceful purposes and for development purposes.

Ambassador Dung expressed his thanks to IAEA for active support for Vietnam in using nuclear technology in agriculture, healthcare, water management and climate change adaptation.

He also thanked the IAEA for sending experts to assist Vietnam in preventing African Swine Fever (ASF), and confirmed that Vietnam would continue to cooperate with IAEA in applying nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes and development purposes in Vietnam, the region and the world./.
