Mr. Thang said that passengers will be notified of the schedule of each flight after the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control agrees, and permits are procured from the related nations.

The repatriated passengers will be taken to Noi Bai International Airport (or Van Don Airport) in the north and Tan Son Nhat International Airport (or Can Tho Airport) in the south, then they will have to be quarantined in concentrated areas according to regulations.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, commercial air routes between Vietnam and the world are suspended, leaving many Vietnamese trapped in countries such as the US, Canada, Singapore and Japan.

Under the direction of the Government, the authorities are reviewing the number of Vietnamese wishing to return home, giving priority to children under 18, the elderly, the sick and people in difficult circumstances, to ensure capacity of concentrated isolation in Vietnam.

Recently, the aviation industry has organized many flights to bring home Vietnamese people from Wuhan (China), Ukraine, Japan and the Philippines./.
