Cambodian PM attends state funeral of President Tran Dai Quang

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen led a high-level delegation to Vietnam to pay tribute to President Tran Dai Quang on September 26th.

The information was announced by Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on September 25th.  

Prime Minister Hun Sen was accompanied Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Interior Samdech Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection Men Sam An, and a number of senior officials from the Royal Government of Cambodia.

On September 21st, the Cambodian Prime Minister sent a letter of condolence to Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to express great sadness on the passing of President Tran Dai Quang as “a huge loss of a leader who was devoted to promoting the well-being of the people of Vietnam and the relations of fraternal friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.”

National Assembly Chairman Samdech Heng Samrin also extended his condolences to his Vietnamese counterpart, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. On September 24th, King Norodom Sihamoni sent his message of sympathy to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong.          

On September 26th, President of the Cambodian Senate Samdech Say Chhum and National Assembly Chairman Samdech Heng Samrin also pay tribute to the Vietnamese leader at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Phnom Penh.

President Tran Dai Quang passed away at 10h05 on September 21st in Hanoi due to serious illness./.
