Exhibition promotes Vietnamese paintings in Germany

A painting exhibition was recently organized by Don Thu Multimedia Gallery in Germany, introducing many precious paintings by famous Vietnamese painters.

The displayed works are by famous painters who graduated from the Fine Arts College of Indochina and the Hanoi College of Fine Arts, such as Bui Xuan Phai, Le Ba Dang, Duong Bich Lien, Le Huy Hoa, Nguyen Quan, Tran Nguyen Dan, Tran Chat, Dinh Luc and Hoang Dinh Tai.

According to Ms. Tham Thi Don Thu, owner of the collection of paintings, these are original works with Asian style, bearing historical marks and have not been published. As a friend of many famous painters, she also shared many stories about their daily lives.

Visitors have an opportunity to enjoy the works and the diversified styles, from paintings on cigarette packs, bark, book covers and other materials such as silk, “do” paper, oil-paint, lacquer, wood-engraving and bronze engraving, which bears Vietnam’s folk features.

Tran Anh Tu, son of Ms. Don Thu, said that the exhibition aimed at introducing and promoting to German art lovers the unique art works of by Vietnamese artists through different periods, and creating a new activity for the Vietnamese community of art lovers in Germany. The exhibition also helps spread knowledge about Vietnamese paintings to art lovers in Europe.

In 2018, Don Thu Multimedia Gallery will combine with the Germany - Vietnam Friendship Association and some other galleries to widely introduce this collection of paintings in Germany./.
