The declaration emphasizes that under the PCA ruling, China doesn’t have any legal ground to claim "historical rights" to the so-called "nine-dash line" on the East Sea.

In addition, China has caused severe damages to the ecosystem through arbitrarily mining, changing the current situation and rampantly constructing wharf and airport infrastructure on the East Sea.

It also strongly opposes China’s actions and claims contrary to international law, and calls on all concerned parties, especially China and the international community, to commit and take actions so that international law must be implemented, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) must be obeyed; disputes on the East Sea must be resolved by peaceful solutions and negotiations under the international law, absolutely without the use any form of intimidation and force; guaranteeing the respect of the parties to the PCA ruling./.
