Sports festival for overseas Vietnamese in Ukraine

A sports festival for overseas Vietnamese across Ukraine was recently organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine and Overseas Vietnamese Association in Kharkov province.

The event attracted nearly 100 trainers and athletes competing in football, table-tennis and tennis, and about 1,000 fans from Kharkov, Kiev and Odessa.
Speaking at the festival, Ambassador Nguyen Anh Tuan stressed that the festival aimed to carry out President Ho Chi Minh’s appeal for mass participation in sports activities on March 27th, 1946 and Directive 05-CT/TW by the Politburo to strengthen the studying and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and style.
While Vu Huy Duong, Standing Deputy Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Kharkov, highlighted the significance of the event, which aimed to encourage the sports and exercise movement and healthy lifestyle among the overseas Vietnamese community in Ukraine./.
