The search, which is conducted in the annual dry season, will take place in Senmonorom city; districts of Kaoh Nheaek, Pechr Chenda, Ou Reang and Kaev Seima of Mondulkiri province, Cambodia. The activity is in the framework of a memorandum of understanding on continuing cooperation to search the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Mondulkiri province, signed by Mr. Chang Sokchantha, Deputy Governor of Mondulkiri Province, and Ms. H'Yim Kdoh, Deputy Chairwoman of the Dak Lak provincial People's Committee, on October 3rd.

Accordingly, the administration of Mondulkiri province will create conditions for 64 members of Vietnam’s K51 search team to search the remains in the province under the laws and customs of the local people.

Besides, Mr. Chang Sokchantha also called upon agencies, administrations and people in the province to provide information and support the K51 search team.

According to a report of Cambodia in 2017, around 4,000 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts have not been found. Both nations have been accelerating the implementation of plans in recent times to finish the search for the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts by 2020./.
