Vietnam Day held in Ukraine’s Lviv city

“Vietnam Day” has been recently organized in Lviv city by the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Lviv provincial municipal Councils and Ukraine - Vietnam Friendship Association.

This is one of activities of the Vietnam Cultural Year in Ukraine and one of large cultural event the Vietnamese Embassy organized in Western Ukraine.

The Vietnam Day included various activities, such as a fair introducing Vietnamese products and cuisine, conference on tourism cooperation, and exhibition introducing the land and people of Vietnam.

Especially, an art program was performed by artists using unique national music instruments chosen by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and overseas Vietnamese from the cities of Kiev, Odessa and Kharkov. It attracted the attention of and was welcomed by a large number of local people and tourist in Lviv.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Anh Tuan stressed this was an opportunity for Vietnam to introduce its land and people to Ukrainian friends and tourist in Lviv, thus further promoting the traditional friendly relations between the two countries, boosting the mutual understanding among people and businesses, as well as helping to connect Vietnam’s ministries, sectors and localities with Ukraine in general and Lviv in particular.

For his part, Governor of Lviv province Oleg Synyuk highly appreciated the choice and effort of the Vietnamese Embassy to organize the event in Lviv. He added that the local people were eager to welcome the event, which helps Ukraine and Vietnam become closer and better understand each other.

Vietnam Day attracted the participation of large number of the overseas Vietnamese community across Ukraine, as well as from Germany, Poland and Hungary./.
