Vietnam’s exit and entry policy introduced in Indonesia

Indonesia’s Ministry of Law and Human Rights on January 21st organized an exit and entry festival with the participation of more than 20 Embassies.

The event included local cultural parades, displays and introduction of immigration policy, specific cultural features of nations. Particularly, initiative of newly granting and promptly solving procedures relating to passports during the day was a highlight, attracting the attention of visitors at the event.

Participating in the event, the Vietnamese Embassy and the representative agency of Vietnam Airlines in Indonesia displayed and introduced Vietnam’s policies about exit and entry, and freely delivered publications about the sea and islands and promotion of tourism destinations in Vietnam.

This was also an opportunity to exchange and promote immigration policies, granting visa, cultures and tourism of more than 20 nations from Europe, Asia, including Russia, Spain, France, Germany, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia and other ASEAN countries of Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar and other partners such as International Organization for Migration (IOM), Indonesian Population Agency and representatives of travel agencies of countries.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly, Minister of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia, stressed that public services in the exit and entry field, especially granting or changing passports in Indonesia, are drawing interest. However, human resources and budget for the field is still low, failing to meet the increasing demand of the middle class of Indonesia.

The event is a chance for the Ministry to better access people and solve their problems./.
