The event was in response to an appeal for a fund-raising walk by Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, a charity organization established in 2003 for disadvantaged children across Vietnam.

As many as 28 members from 13 families, including five children aged 9-14, in a group of Vietnamese alumni families named “New Sunlight for Children”, joined the walk.

Ms. Phung Thu Van, a member of the group, said that to prepare for the long walk, she and other group members had to actively train on weekends for over a month, even in rain or when they were not feeling well.

Ms. Phuong Phan, one of those having the idea of organizing the event, felt very happy after everyone participating in the walk came to the finish line safely, especially the children.

Her family is a very active member in the “New Sunlight for Children” group, which includes about 200 Vietnamese alumni families, which often holds activities to unify the community, preserve the national cultural identity and raise charity funds to support disadvantaged children in Vietnam for many years./.
