Attending and speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Romania Tran Thanh Cong said that the ceremony was the moment students enter a new stage of life, from pupils to students. Many changes and challenges await them. Being freshmen, they will be responsible for themselves, their families, the university and society. Most importantly, it is the responsibility for their lives.

The ambassador also encouraged Vietnamese students to develop the studious tradition to overcome difficulties in the first year to learn the foreign language to record high academic achievements, and promote the long-standing traditional friendship between the two countries.

Since 2016, the government of Romania decided to double scholarships granted to Vietnamese students studying in Romania.

The University of Pitesti is one of the most prestigious names in Romania with many faculties such as International Studies, Economics, Law, Language, Communications and Information Technology. Over the past time, it has trained hundreds of Vietnamese students. Many of them have returned to Vietnam to contribute to the development of the country.

Over the past 67 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Romania has provided scholarships to nearly 4,000 Vietnamese students through Government-level programs and cooperation between universities./.
