On February 6th, the Maldivian government declared a state of emergency for 15 days because of a political crisis. The Maldivian security force has been deployed in the capital Malé to respond to political developments.

Vietnamese citizens working, studying or travelling in the Maldives should avoid crowded and sensitive locations, and regularly monitor reports from and heed the warnings of local authorities to ensure safety.

In case of emergency, Vietnamese citizens can contact the hotline: Vietnamese Embassy in Sri Lanka and the Maldives: +94.11.2696050 or citizen protection station: +84.981.84.84.84./.
