Vietnamese community in Czech Republic supports family with two boys killed

Immediately after the catastrophic accident on June 17th in Plzen city, Plzen province, the Czech Republic, ending the lives of two Vietnamese boys, the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnamese community have taken measures to timely support and encourage the victims' family.

On June 19th, Consular Department under the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic helped Ms. Vu Thi Mai Huong, mother of the two victims, carry out necessary procedures at the request of her family.

The local police haven’t provided official information on this particularly serious traffic accident.

Meanwhile, activities to raise funds to support Ms. Vu Thi Mai Huong's family have begun to spread among the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and gained the first results.

Nguyen Huy Anh, Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Plzen province, said that right after hearing that the two sons of Ms. Vu Thi Mai Huong, including Tran Viet Hung, 12 years old and Vu Viet Anh, 7 years old, were killed in a traffic accident, members of the Women's Union and the Buddhist Association in Plzen province were present to help and encourage the family.

On the evening of June 18th, the Buddhist Association invited a monk to Ms. Huong's home to conduct a requiem for the two victims. The Overseas Vietnamese Association in Plzen province has also mobilized financial support for Ms. Huong's family.


According to Mr. Nguyen Sinh, Deputy Head of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic, the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the country also launched a donation campaign among the community to help Ms. Vu Thi Mai Huong send the bodies of her sons to Vietnam according to her family’s wishes.

After launching, the association has received support from the Vietnamese communities in the provinces of Plzen, Karlovy Vary, Southern Czech and some other localities.

Besides, Ms. Huong has also received support from Hai Duong fellow-countrymen and benefactors. Facebook accounts of Vietnamese people in Plzen in particular, and in other regions of the Czech Republic, posted calls to help Ms. Huong and received positive feedback./.
