Vietnamese community in Germany marks War Invalids' and Martyrs' Day

A ceremony was held to mark the 70th anniversary of War Invalids' and Martyrs' Day by Tan Trao Association, veterans, families of war invalids and martyrs in Cottbus city and adjacent regions in Germany on July 30th.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen The Hung, Head of the organizing board, sent his regards to the participants, who are war invalids and relatives of martyrs.

Through the event, the organizing board hoped that younger generations would know and remember the merits of heroic martyrs and war invalids.

Over the past time, Tan Trao Association, veterans, families of war invalids and martyrs in Germany have taken various concrete actions, and mobilized donations to build gratitude houses for policy beneficiary families in difficult circumstance in Vietnam.

At the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Doan Xuan Hung expressed his emotion when participating in this meaningful activity. He called on the Vietnamese community to take practical actions to help families of war invalids and martyrs in difficult circumstances in Germany and hoped that the Vietnamese community in Germany would unite and actively contribute to the development of the Vietnam-Germany strategic partnership.

Some war invalids, relatives of martyrs and veterans expressed their gratitude to the event. On this occasion, war invalids and relatives of martyrs were presented campaign medals.

Previously, the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany and the Vietnam Veterans' Association in Berlin-Brandenburg marked the 70th anniversary of War Invalids' and Martyrs' Day and held a great requiem for martyrs at Dong Xuan Trade Centre in Berlin./.
