Speaking at the meeting, Chairwoman of the Mutual Support Fellow-Countrymen Association in Macau Tran Thi Thu reviewed the glorious tradition and highlighted the good, indomitable and tenacious qualities in fighting against aggressors, hard work and creativity in labour and production, and generosity in social life and family of Vietnamese women throughout the history of the country.

She stated that in the history of building and protecting the country over thousands of years, Vietnamese women have always held an important role.

They not only shoulder the responsibility to preserve the race, producing generations of heroes of a heroic nation, but they themselves have also contributed significantly to the preservation and construction of the country as Vietnam grows more prosperous.

The people of Vietnam remember the radiance of heroic women like Ba Trung, Ba Trieu, Bui Thi Xuan or Ut Tich.

They are outstanding representative for the undaunted revolutionary optimism of Vietnamese women.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu expressed that in the eyes of international friends, the image of Vietnamese women are always gentle and graceful, with extraordinary energy and pure souls willing to accept supreme sacrifice for the sake of the nation and the community.

She desired that the Overseas Vietnamese community in Macau in general and Vietnamese women in Macau in particular, upholding the good tradition of Vietnamese women, mutually support each other to overcome difficulties, enriching the homeland.

At the meeting, Ms. Thu called upon the community to raise funds to support people in the Central region suffering floods and disasters. A large number of Vietnamese people in Macau responded to the activity.

During the meeting, the participants also enjoyed art items performed by members of the community./.
