Vietnamese Community in Moscow organizes art competition in 2018

The final round and award ceremony of an art competition of the Vietnamese community in Moscow and surrounding areas was recently organized at the Cultural Palace of Moscow State University Of Railway Engineering (MIIT).

The competition aimed to promote mass cultural movement, strengthen exchange and coherence among the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in the Russian Federation and look towards the year of cross-cultural exchange between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in 2019, while contributing to strengthening the promotion of Vietnam's image to Russian and international friends.

After two days of preliminary competition from nearly 80 performances, the jury selected more than 20 best performances for the final round, focusing on three main themes, including praising the Party and Uncle Ho; praising the love for people, homeland, country, tradition of the Vietnamese nation; and praising the Vietnam-Russia friendly relationship.

At the final round, Nguyen Khac Hoa won the first prize for male solo singer, while Nguyen Hong Nhung and Ha Thi Phuong co-won the first prize for female solo singers.

In addition, the organizing board also presented other awards to individuals and teams participating in the competition.   

Mr. Tran Phu Thuan, Head of the organizing board, Deputy Head of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Russia, said that the competition achieved the set targets, including creation of a real festive atmosphere for the Vietnamese community in Moscow before the New Year 2019.

He added that communications of this competition would be valuable experiences to organize a contest on a larger scale (throughout the Russian Federation), expected in April 2019.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Hoa said that after completing his study in Russia, he will return to Vietnam to contribute to preserving and developing the Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity./.
