The Thai Ambassador, rotating President of AAC, presided over the event.
The ASEAN Family Day 2018 had the participation of seven ambassadors of AAC member countries Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, and officials, staff of the embassies and their families.
The participants from ASEAN countries actively participated in games, performed interesting art items and made specific dishes of each country.
The Vietnamese Embassy, as the Deputy President of AAC, displayed its traditional handicraft products, special art performance and traditional dishes such as beef noodle soup, beef stew in red wine sauce, and sweetened porridge made from green bean and pumpkin.
Through the display, ASEAN friends were very interested in Vietnam’s traditional handicraft products such as Dong Ho painting, lacquer painting and water puppetry, as well as Vietnam’s history such as Dien Bien Phu victory, President Ho Chi Minh’s services, socio-economic development achievements and Vietnam - Turkey diplomatic relations.
Besides, they also loved Vietnamese cuisine, especially beef noodle soup, for which many people requested the recipe.
It was an annual event of AAC in order to promote solidarity among the ASEAN community in Ankara./.
