Vietnamese people in Cambodia pay tribute to voluntary soldiers

A delegation including representatives from the Consulate General of Vietnam and the Khmer – Vietnam Association in Preah Sihanouk province and Vietnamese business community led by Consul General Vu Ngoc Ly paid tribute and laid a wreath to Vietnamese voluntary soldiers at the Cambodia-Vietnam friendship tower in Preah Sihanouk province, Cambodia on December 20th.

The annual activity was carried out on the occasion of 30 years of the All-people Defence Festival and 75 years since the founding of the Vietnamese People’s Army.

The show the infinite gratitude, the delegation spent a minute of silence to commemorate the Vietnamese voluntary soldiers who sacrificed in Cambodia during the war. Their great sacrifices have contributed to the cause of defending the country's integrity, expressing noble international spirit, cultivating good friendship and solidarity between the peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia.

Tens of thousands of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers sacrificed while performing international missions in Cambodia during the wars. So far, there are still many remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers in Cambodia. The work of seeking and repatriating the remains of martyrs is still being actively implemented by the governments of the two countries with the goal of completing by 2020./.
