The Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee has issued an official dispatch guiding tree planting to show gratitude to Uncle Ho and celebrate Spring and the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) 2018.

The movement aims to promote the good tradition in implementing Uncle Ho’s teachings on planting trees, and protecting forests.
The provincial People’s Committee assigned the provincial Departments of Information and Communications, Education and Training, provincial Radio and Television and Quang Ninh Newspaper to coordinate with Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development Natural Resources and Environment, and People's Committees of localities to popularize and raise awareness about the purpose, benefits and significance of Tet tree planting.
In addition, it is necessary to encourage and mobilize all classes of people, pupils and students to actively join in tree and forest planting in combination with forest protection; especially rehabilitating and developing natural forests and mangrove forests in the context of global climate change and sea level rise.
People's Committees of districts, towns and cities should build plans, launch the movement and carry out Tet tree planting for the 2018 Spring in accordance with conditions of each locality. After launching and organizing the movement, they should plan to manage, protect and care for trees to achieve a high survival rate and avoid wastefulness and ineffectiveness.
The provincial People’s Committee asked the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited and Dong Bac Corporation to guide member units in Quang Ninh to build specific plans to launch the movement, especially attaching importance to planting trees to protect residential areas affected by mineral exploitation activities./.
