Vietnam reports 9th case of nCoV

The latest information from the Vietnamese Ministry of Health on February 4th confirmed the 9th case of the acute respiratory disease caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

The male patient, 30, a worker in the northern province of Vinh Phuc, was one of 8 people returning from China’s Wuhan in the same flight. Four of them have tested positive for nCoV. 

He is now being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases and is in stable health situation. 

The nCoV infected cases detected in Vietnam so far include 2 Chinese citizens (one cured), 4 Vietnamese citizens returning from Wuhan, China (1 cured and discharged from hospital), 1 Vietnamese citizen who is a receptionist and had close contact with the 2 above mentioned Chinese cases, 1 American citizen coming to Vietnam after transiting through Wuhan, and the 1 newly-discovered Vietnamese citizen.

According to the Vietnam disease inspection system, the number of deaths globally due to the disease reached 426 and cases of infection reached 20,622, mainly in China./.
