Seven heads of state, including China's President Xi Jingping, as well as more than 80 state ministers of foreign affairs, leaders of international organizations and business leaders attend the conference.

In line with its theme, this year's BFA conference will be divided into four modules including globalization, growth, reform and the new economy.

The BFA is a non-profit organisation that hosts high-level forums for leaders from government, business and academia in Asia and other continents to share their vision on the most pressing issues in this dynamic region and the world at large.

BFA is modelled after the World Economic Forum held annually in Davos, Switzerland. It has its fixed address in Boao, Hainan province.

Established in 2001, the BFA is a high-end networking platform for government leaders, business tycoons and academics, where discussions about current issues of relevance to Asia and the whole world are held.

The forum’s mission is to promote regional economic integration to achieve common development in Asia.

Boao, a town of 29,000 people in the south Chinese province of Hainan, is the permanent site of the BFA headquarters./.
